Gabe Gross is a very good fielding corner outfielder. He doesn't hit very well, but the Athletics can use him as a defensive replacement off the bench in later innings.
The Athletics need to improve their offense with some power and some more average. Russell Branyan can provide the needed power at first base. Omar Infante or Felipe Lopez could be the quality hitters the Athletics need to be their designated hitter. Their offense is very weak.
