Alex Gonzalez: Signed one-year deal with Blue Jays

Alex Gonzalez is a very good defensive shortstop who can hit at little. However, he doesn't do anything notable with his bat. The Blue Jays need to give Mike McCoy a chance to start and play because he has the chance to make a much more offensive impact. The Blue Jays need the offense from the shortstop spot because Vernon Wells in centerfield and Raul Chavez at catcher are more defensive players. The Blue Jays still need a right fielder. If the Blue Jays want to start Alex Gonzalez, in addition to a right fielder, they would need to sign a catcher or a center fielder.

Right Fielders

Chris Denorfia
Brian Giles
Gary Sheffield
Randy Winn
