Fernando Tatis: Signed one year deal with Mets
Fernando Tatis is a baseball player that doesn't fit any specific role for a major league team. He doesn't hit for a great average or power. He doesn't have any real defensive position. He really can't be an important part of the Mets if the Mets hope to have success this season. Maybe he can be the first baseman for the Mets and bat eighth in their lineup, but there are better candidates for that on the free agent market. Rich Aurilia, Nomar Garciaparra, Greg Norton, and Robb Quinlan are all better players to fit the role over Tatis.
