Ramon Hernandez is not a spectacular defensive catcher, but he is a good number two hitter. The Reds already have Ryan Hanigan to catch and they already have Brando Phillips who can hit number two in the lineup. Hernandez would be a decent backup catcher. The Reds still need starting pitchers.
