Jeff Salazar is not a major league hitter and shouldn't be used as one on the Orioles. He is a very good outfielder and can play all three positions, but he should start in the minors and if the Orioles need a backup outfielder then call him up. He would be a good late inning replacement.
The Orioles are lacking guaranteed power in the lineup. They should look at Russell Branyan to play first base and Jermaine Dye to be their designated hitter.
