Aroldis Chapman: Signed six year contract with Reds

Aroldis Chapman could be a number three starter for the Reds this season. The Reds really needed a top starter and a number two starter. Erik Bedard would be a good investment at the top of the rotation but there aren't any number two starters remaining in the free agent market. If Edinson Volquez was healthy, he could have been a number two starter. As a result, Chapman being the best number three starter on the Reds roster and out of the remaining free agent starters would be forced to be a number two starter for the season. Aaron Harang is also a solid number three starter so only the number two slot will be mildly weakened. The Reds got the best option remaining to be their number two starter.
