The Royals have filled on of their four holes in their batting order with signing Scott Podsednik. He will give the Royals a hitter that can provide a very good batting average and good defense in left field.
The Royals still need a lot of power in their lineup. Russell Branyan would be a good fit at first base, which moves Billy Butler to the designated hitter role. Jermaine Dye is their best option to play right field and hit for very good power. If the Royals can sign Omar Infante or Felipe Lopez to move to third base, they'd also fill a missing hole in their lineup.
