Joe Thurston: Signed minor league contract with Braves

Joe Thurston is a marginal major league bench player at best. His fielding is subpar, he might get a few hits, but other than that he belongs in the minors for the Braves during the entire 2010 season. The Braves need more power in the middle of the lineup perhaps in the form of Russell Branyan at first base and Jonathan Van Every in center field. Jonathan Van Every isn't a guarantee in centerfield, so if the Braves choose to place Nate McLouth out there, they can find a power bat in Matt Holliday to play left field.
